Boy Scout of the Philippines Annual Council Meeting

       Last June 29, 2010, the City of Cabadbaran was the proud host to the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Annual Council Meeting which was held at the Social Hall of the People's Government Center.  With more than 300 participants in attendance composed of Municipal/District Scout Commissioners, Institutional Heads from both Public and Private Elementary and Secondary Schools, Scout Coordinators, Scouters, Scouts, Parents and Supporters of Scouting from all overAgusan del Norte and Butuan City; Mayor Dale B. Corvera, being the City Mayor of Cabadbaran and at the same time the Council Chairman and International Commissioner of the BSP was truly overwhelmed by the support and participation of the scouters to the said gathering.

           Even with the trials and challenges that scouting has been encountering all these years, it is  a reaffirmation that there are still individuals who voluntarily commit themselves to serve the organization for the promotion of the welfare of their community and fellowmen through their active involvement in socio-civic activities and programs. Mayor Corvera also gave recognition to the different schools from all levels for coming up with a great campaign in increasing the numbers of Boy Scouts in their respective schools.

           The honored guest of th said BSP Agusan Council Meeting was Mr. Jose Rizal C. Pangilinan, the Secretary General of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines who was still fresh from his trip in Bangalore, India to attend the 7th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Leaders Summit of the Boy Scouts, was truly impressed of the fact that it was the first time that he saw such a large number of participants in a BSP Council Meeting an indication of the good leadership and strong relationship that dwells within the organization. Mayor Corvera was also a part of the Philippine Delegation to the said summit being a BSP International Commissioner.
